I'M BACK!!!!
It has been over a year since my last post. I can't even believe that, what a whirlwind of a year! I've watched a few dramas here and there but not nearly as much as I would have like to. If you had asked me a year ago what I thought of K-dramas, I would have told you in all seriousness that I have a problem. I'm an addict, and can't get enough. Funny how life can change so quickly. But, I am dredging up the past and in these next few weeks plan to get the fix I have been dying for. I have a list about 10 miles long so get ready to .....

Favorite Actors
When I am looking for the next K-Drama usually I will find an actor that I love and find out what other Dramas they have been in and choose from there. It is pretty rare that I will just pick a random one and watch it. I also of course watch Dramas that others have had high opinions of but that is not the point. Anyway here are a list of my FAVORITE actors!
1. Lee Min Ho
2. Kim Soo- Hyun
4. Choi Jin-Hyuk

5. Jung Yong Hwa

- Seriously who doesn't LOVE him?!?!? He has done so many different kinds of dramas and has played so many different characters! Did you know that he put out a Fan album? Now he is NOT a singer. This is something that I completely love him for. He made an album for his fans. Not because he is trying to cross over and become a singer/ actor/ dancer but for his fans! He doesn't care about that and in all honestly doesn't need that! But the first time that I heard his voice I was completely drawn in to the soothing honey sound of his voice. I really love to listen to him sing, "My Everything" and "Painful Love". If you haven't heard them go!! They are really good!
- Okay I LOVE HIS FACE! I know that sounds so shallow, and it really kind of is. But he is so cute!!!!! I fell in love with him in Dream High and have been a consistent follower/ fan since.
- I first saw him in Boys Over Flowers and was intrigued and watched him in couple of different shows then fell in love with his singing group SS501. I think my favorite song would have to be, "Love Ya". I am currently watching him in, "Inspiring Generation".
- Two words. HIS VOICE! I don't know why but I am completely in love with his deep voice! If you haven't caught him in his most recent drama, "Emergency Couple" drop everything and go watch it now!!!!!!!! His face and character are just the most precious thing I have ever seen!!
5. Jung Yong Hwa
- First and foremost I fell in love with his music. He is the lead vocalist in the group CN BLUE. Then I found out he was an actor and followed him from there.
MY MANTRA
You know it is so funny that when it comes down to it and I am weighing my options, do my homework and get it ALL done or watch K-drama how often I tend to be scrambling the next morning to do my homework because I completely ignored it the night before! This is my life right here!

Inspiring Generation
PLOT: A story of violence, love and friendship that travels between Korea, China and Japan in the 1930s.
So far I have really liked this show! Kim Hyun Joong plays the male lead. Its nice to see him branch out from his traditional roles and step into something a little more serious. I don't think that I have watched enough to really rate this drama but so far so good!
Here is the link if you want to watch the trailer with Eng Subs. I couldn't get the video to post so this is the best I could do :)
Enjoy :)
BRIDE OF THE CENTURY
Okay so technically this is still airing but, it only has like 2 episodes more till it is over! I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH!!!! Lee Hong Ki is one of my favorite actors!!!!! For those of you who have seen, "You're Beautiful" he plays the insanely adorable character Jeremy. The character he plays in this drama is so different from Jeremy that I wasn't even sure that they were the same person!! (The hair also threw me off) :)
This show is so intense and has so many plot twists and turns. Every character/actor was truly amazing but I have to give a HUGE shout out to Yang Jin-Sung who plays our leading lady Na Doo Rim/Jang Yi-Kyung! She was SO freaking fantastic. In the beginning I didn't even know that were the same person! The characters that she plays are so completely different. Polar Opposites. The only shows that I have seen her in have been were she plays the "evil" / jealous/ crazy girl which she does an amazing job, but it was great to FINALLY see her play a charming, sweet, kindhearted character. She was truly incredible!
The only thing somewhat bad I have to say about this show is the lack of chemistry between the two leads. Now I know not everyone can be shooting sparks everywhere, but I felt like they needed just a tiney tiny bit more. The were really cute together, do not get me wrong it in no way effects how wonderful this show is, but I just wanted a little bit more!
Even though this show still has 2 episodes left to air and I haven't seen the ending (you know how I am about those) so far I can easily give this show....
4 1/2 out of 5 stars!!!!

SoulMates

PLOT:
Dong-wook, a playboy who no one can even dare to follow. Soo-kyung, a girl who only looks at one man like a sunflower; a perfect, pure hearted...more character. Two people who have never seen each other, and who live on the opposite sides of the world from each other live and love in their own way, but from some point on they start to move towards the same dream and feel the same physiological feelings. Two people who have met by fate in a world full of mixed up fates. Now, the most amazing things, which no one could have ever thought of, start to unfold between the two.
Now that I've got all that out of my system I can say that Individually I LOVED all the the characters in this show! Each one was so unique and made this slow moving drama bearable. There are two of the supporting females role that every time they open their mouth you want to burst with laughter. IT IS HILARIOUS!
I would give this a...

Cheongdam-Dong Alice
This show was definately not what I was expecting it to be about. I have a habit of not reading anything about a show and then just jumping right on into it! Now most times its not a big deal, but then there are other times.... well like this one. I thought this was an actual Alice and Wonderland spin-off story but, its really not. LIKE REALLY NOT. Maybe a few references here and there but still. Not enought that I would think that it should really have anything to do with Alice in Wonderland. I did think that the main male lead was a little bit ridiculous at times though. Not in hahaha ridiculous, but as in, "What the heck?". But overall I would say that it was fairly good.
PLOT:
Han Se Kyung (Moon Geun Young) is a talented young designer who lives each day with the motto "Strive for your dream to succeed". Until the day she met Cha Seung Jo (Park Shi Hoo) a president of a luxury brand shop in Cheongdam-dong who will change her life
I would give this a...

GU Family Book
Okay I am going to be honest with you. The only reason I started watching this show was because I thought that Choi Jin-Hyuk was the lead role. I cannot begin to describe the disappointment I felt when I realized that was not the case! :) BUT, if you start to watch this you will soon realize like I did this show is not so easily turned off!!! It was very captivating and beautiful! I thought that both the male and female leads did a great job!!!! I really ended up loving this!
PLOT:
Story of Choi Kang Chi, born as a half-human-half-mythical-creature (or human werefox half-breed), goes through in order to live more like a human despite not being able to become human.
Last Cinderella
Okay so first off I will tell you this is NOT a korean drama. It's Japanese. Now normally I don't watch Japanese dramas but a friends reccomended this and so I watched it. I will tell you I was NOT disappointed!

Hahahahaha! I really liked this show! It is a little on the weird side for me. Now for most people the age difference while dating someone doesn't matter, but to me i'm a little more picky :) But I still really enjoyed watching this show! It is very whitty but at the same time very serious and has a great plot and really does a great job of tieing everything together at the end! (Can you tell I'm big on endings? hahaha)
PLOT:
Sakura is a 39-year-old single woman who works in a beauty salon. One day she meets Hiroto, a young man 15 years younger, at a party and he is immediately attracted. Rintaro, Sakura's employer and her neighbor, is soon aware of the relationship between his employee and this man much younger than her, he then begins to intrude.
I would definately give this a....

The King 2 Hearts
PLOT:
Lee Jae-ha (Lee Seung-gi) is a handsome yet materialistic crown prince who doesn't care about politics and feels total reluctance to being the second in line to the throne. Lee Jae-kang (Lee Sung-min), the current king, tricks him into joining a joint military collaboration with North Korea as a means to help "make him grow up."
Meanwhile, Kim Hang-ah (Ha Ji-won) is a North Korean Special Forces Officer who is also the daughter of a North Korean military high command official. Both Jae-ha and Hang-ah meet at the joint military training, a crucial part in establishing friendly relations between the two separate countries. Although the two are initially antagonistic towards each other, Jae-ha unwittingly sparks a friendship with Hang-ah and he subsequently falls in love with her. Soon, an arranged marriage is set up between the two and they eventually become engaged. While they attempt to set their differences aside and build a growing relationship, things suddenly take a turn for the worse when King Jae-kang and his wife are assassinated by the devious and notorious terrorist group, Club M, led by John Mayer/Kim Bong-gu (Yoon Je-moon), a mysterious magician who is obsessed with eliminating the royal family and plans to rule in their stead. Now crowned the new King of South Korea, Jae-ha must learn to be responsible and protect the country before it is too late.

Who Are You?
PLOT:
Detective Yang Shi-ohn (So E-Hyun) wakes up from a six-year coma. She gets reassigned to the lost and found department, where she discovers that she's gained the supernatural ability to see ghosts connected to the objects left behind there. Along with her new partner, rookie cop Cha Gun-woo (TaecYeon) who's a hotheaded skeptic, Shi-ohn uses the information to solve cold cases. Gun-woo only believes in tangible things he can see, hear and touch, but he gradually comes to trust Shi-ohn, and together, the bickering partners help the spirits fulfill their dying wishes and unfinished business before passing on to the afterlife.
If this had had a better ending it would have definately gotten 4 stars but because it didn't I am going to say....
3 out of 5 Stars!!!
My Love From Another Star
Wow... just wow. I am just amazed about how many good dramas have come out lately. My list of FAVS has grown SO much these past couple of months. This has definitely made it up there in my top 10!
PLOT:
Do Min-Joon (Kim Soo-Hyun) is an alien that landed on Earth in the year 1609 during the Joseon Dynasty. As his spaceship is broken, he is stranded on the planet for the next four centuries. He possesses a near-perfect appearance, enhanced physical abilities involving his vision, hearing and speed, and a cynical, jaded view regarding human beings. In the present he works as a college professor and finds out that due to a comet coming in three months, he will be able to return to his home planet. In the meantime he accidentally meets famous actress Cheon Song-yi (Gianna Jun), the biggest Hallyu star in Korea, when she moves in next door to his luxurious apartment and also turns out to be attending his classes at college. Song-yi is an obnoxious, entitled attention seeker, someone who became a top star in her teens and never learned how to live a normal life.
In the first 3 mins you are already laughing. Cheon Song-yi (Gianna Jun) does a phenomenal job! When I heard she was in this drama I wasn't totally sure how it was going to play out, this being SO different than the action movies I have seen her in before, but she did a remarkable job! Her character... where to start? She is very self-important, obnoxious, vain, extremely (gut-busting-ly) dumb, and she frequently talks to herself.
Do Min-Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) *sigh* I cannot tell you how much I adore this man! Every drama I have ever seen him in I could not help but fall in love with him, and this is no different. His character at the beginning is unfeeling, cold and cynical, but as this drama unfolds his inhuman hard heart melts and so does yours. There is a moment in this show where he breaks down and starts to cry. It was probably the most unbearable and tragic moment in a drama I have ever seen.
This show weaves the most tragically beautiful love story I have ever seen in Korean Drama. I really loved the way that this show ended as well. They covered all the loose ends and made you thoroughly satisfied. The ending was a little sad, but was so distressingly romantic. I would absolutely without a doubt recommend this to anyone looking for something to help rekindle that little spark of impossible yet destined romance that is written in the stars.
I would give this a solid...
4 out of 5 Stars!!!
Now I now this is a little strange and definitely something I don't do ever but I seriously couldn't resist, and not only because its true :)
Hahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
Emergency Couple
PLOT:
Hahaha I loved this so much! Choi Jin-Hyuk is definitely one of my favorite actors. Up until now I have only ever seen him play serious roles. In this drama he is completely different, you see a side of him that will completely astound you! He is adorable, sexy, charming, and hilariously comical. I fell in LOVE with his character!!!!
| Song Ji-Hyo |
Song Ji-Hyo! This is my first time seeing her act in anything and I am now a fan! She did an amazing job! I am definitely looking forward to seeing her in more dramas!
There were so many moments in this show that I found myself rolling on the floor with laughter or making a mad dash for the tissues in my bag.
To be honest I was a little hesitant about watching this show for the reason that I am such a wuss when it comes to anything having to do with bodily functions or problems. For a show mainly focused in the ER they did a fabulous job of making it bearable to watch! They only showed a little blood :)
I really loved all of the supporting leads in this show! It was really entertaining to watch them all! Each one had a great story and definitely contributed to this show.
The only thing that I have to say about this show is that I felt the ending was rushed. While watching the last episode (At the time I had no idea it was the last one) I was so confused and didn't understand what was going on when the credits rolled on and the bloopers. I was a little disappointed and wished they would have done at least one more episode! I was definitely left wanting just a little more! But, DO NOT LET THAT STOP YOU from watching this show! It was ABSOLUTELY worth it!
I would give this a...
3 1/2 stars!!!
IT HAS BEEN A WHILE!

Master's Sun!!!!
PLOT: Joo Joong Won (So Ji Sub) is a cold and ambitious CEO, who measures all human relationships through money. Tae Gong Shil (Gong Hyo Jin) is a woman who suffers from insomnia, due to her ability to see ghosts after an accident in which she was in a coma for 3 years. Joong Won eventually learns to trust Gong Shil and falls in love with her.
Joo Joong Won and Tae Gong Shil have so much chemistry in this show that you could almost feel the sparks in the air! They were are perfect fit! They are charming and sweet!
When you first meet Tae Gong Shil you are little freaked out by her... she talks to herself and sees the creepiest ghosts. But as the show goes on you fall in love with her strange ways and come to love her as she is.
One thing I loved about her character is how hard to she tried to become someone worthy of Joo Joong Won, but she never tried to be anything more than who she is.
Joo Joong Won is a cold- hearted CEO who is only worried about money, and the only relationships he has with people are ones that profit his business and help him make more money. When Tae Gong Shil comes into his life she starts to break him down piece by piece and unknowingly changes him into a loving, thoughtful, devoted, and protective person. Someone who is finally worthy of Tae Gong Shil, his Sun.
Their journey together is irresistible and captivating and will enthrall you from the very beginning. I know that you will love this show as much as I did!!!!
This show gets a well deserved.....
IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THIS, GO NOW!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
